Memorabilia to celebrate memories of growing up in Wilmington, NC during the 50's and 60's

DISCLAIMER:

I am a born Wilmingtonian. I attended Bradley Creek Elementary School, Roland-Grise                                          Junior High, New Hanover High School ('67), and UNC-W Graduate ('75).  I am, also, an                                          Air Force Veteran (68-72).  Growing up in Wilmington & Wrightsville Beach, in the 50's and                                    60's was a special time in my life.  After 27 years in a financial accounting  career, to                                                remember  those "good ole" days, I made tee shirts as a hobby, for myself, that represented                                some of those  times (I grew up in Seagate).  A few of my friends started a Miljo Breakfast Club years ago and wanted me to design a logo for the Miljo and do tee shirts for the club. In my spare time, and with blessings and permission from the Hines family, I made the shirts.  Since then, I've been asked to do other "hangouts" in Wilmington, NC of the 50's & 60's, i.e., The Upper Deck, The Wit's End, The Spot, The Chic Chic, The Wood Shed, etc.  All my designs I do for tee shirts are presented on this website will only be available pending approval from existing families. I am retired and do this for fun. FYI, I designed the logo for the NHHS Alumni Association as my donation to their startup.  As for the tee shirts, I make all of the shirts in-house and are not "farmed" out to other production facilities.  With free shipping, I break even, at best.  MY DISCLAIMER: If anyone has legal claim to these venues' tradenames, please let me hear from you.  Wilmington nostalgia is important to a lot of us baby boomers. The designs are my own, and in no way replicate any of the original logos that may have been trademarked or copyrighted. I've tried to do due diligence on each location to make sure that I am not in violation of any legal rights owned by someone.  My sole purpose is to keep these locations alive in the hearts and minds of all of us Wilmingtonians and give tribute to those that braved self-employment all those years ago and helped shape lasting memories of growing up in Wilmington. The shirts get a lot of attention, witnessed by the Miljo Breakfast Club members. These iconic venues were places we frequented during our years at New Hanover High School in the 50's & 60's, which to most of us, were the best years of our lives.

I would love to hear your comments, especially family members of these great locations of our past. Good or Bad.  If you have suggestions for other Wilmington "hangouts of the 50's & 60's", please let me know. My contact information is down below.

          With best memories,

           George Murray
